Back in 2014-2015, I started Discover Mt Apo, the first-ever online luxury booking service for climbing Mt Apo. Shortly after I created the Article and Design (the outsourcing platform).
This project was a huge hit, even catching the attention of the team at one of the big production companies in Manila who wanted to collaborate with us.
Sadly, I had to turn them down because of valid reasons.
I started this business with three key goals in mind:
1/ To offer safe, professionally-guided, fun-filled trips to Mt Apo’s peak, teaching everyone about the importance of caring for nature;
2/ To boost Philippine tourism, particularly in the stunning but often overlooked region of Mindanao; and
3/ To give job opportunities to contractors, helping them earn a decent living and provide for their families. It’s a point of pride for me that we pay our guides well and look after them with essentials like food, water, and transport.
Even before the Covid hit, I had to press pause on the agency.
Over the years, I’m proud to say we’ve achieved our goals and even exceeded them, all while I’ve been running things from Australia.

I’m not someone who gives up easily – I grow and adapt. And that’s true for my business ventures too.
